Package: notification-daemon Version: 0.4.0-1 Severity: normal I no longer see most of the notifications I used to on my system. No low battery alerts nor Rhythmbox's music playing, for example. Pidgin online alerts do show up.
I've used the notification-properties applet to try and diagnose the issue. The only message I get when I click on [ Preview ] is: "Error while displaying notification: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."" As far as I know, my system is in a default state, I mean, I've not done any customization that could produce this error that I'm aware of, but I honestly found no way of getting any output which could point me in the right direction here. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages notification-daemon depends on: ii gconf2 2.26.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libatk1.0-0 1.24.0-2 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.9-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.8.6-2+b1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.12-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.80-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgconf2-4 2.26.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.4-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.0-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.23-1 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme ii libgtk2.0-0 2.16.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libnotify1 [libnotify1-gtk2. 0.4.5-1 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libsexy2 0.1.11-2+b1 collection of additional GTK+ widg ii libwnck22 2.24.2-2 Window Navigator Construction Kit ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library notification-daemon recommends no packages. notification-daemon suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
