Unfortunately CMake puts the value of CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS at the beggining of the command line, so the symbols are still left undefined. The same goes for CMAKE_SHARED_LINKER_FLAGS. I was looking for something like CMAKE_LIBS, but I haven't found anything yet. I really think that should be possible without modifying CMakeLists.txt.
