Package: libunwind
Severity: wishlist

The package is not upgraded in Debian for about four years, during which
the upstream released new versions several times[1]. Monty Taylor and I really
need the latest version. For example, it will allow the latest
google-perftools, which I maintain and depends on libunwind, to be built on
the amd64 architecture. Monty needs the latest google-perftools for another
project.

We are preparing an NMU of the latest version 0.99 of libunwind.
If the maintainers loose their interest to package it, we can take over the
project.

The uploader, Al, seems to be quite active. What is your relationship with
the primary maintainer, Matthieu, who seems to be inactive? Can you talk
with him? We'd like to hear your opinion.
