I've found that the bug originated upstream, came with svn rev. 1481
where the options.iobase variable was change from a signed long to an
unsigned long long. Unfortunately a negative value of this variable was
used to indicate that the value should be set from the config file and
it wasn't negative after the change and therefore never set from the file.
