Package: fglrx-atieventsd Severity: normal I installed fglrx-atieventsd along with the rest of the fglrx packages today, and my hard disk immediately started spinning. I discovered it was logging to auth.log every few seconds by running 'su', from authatieventsd.sh. The command was presumably failing and then being retried forever.
After a reboot into the fglrx driver and a reconfigured X server, I can no longer reproduce this; but is there any way to stop the script from being constantly re-run? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages fglrx-atieventsd depends on: ii fglrx-glx 1:9-5-1 proprietary libGL for the non-free ii libc6 2.9-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 7.4.1-1 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.0-2 X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xserver-xorg 1:7.4+1 the X.Org X server Versions of packages fglrx-atieventsd recommends: ii fglrx-driver 1:9-5-1 non-free AMD/ATI r6xx - r7xx displ fglrx-atieventsd suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
