Aha. We have an answer then. Audacious 2.1 alpha will be hitting experimental this weekend. Can you test it when it's uploaded? It has a rewritten-from-scratch plugin that fits into Audacious 2's architecture better. In preliminary testing, CPU usage is normal with HDA cards under this driver. William
