We seem to miss each other here.

The Debian package of davfs2 currently has a build dependency on 
libneon27-dev, which is the OpenSSL version.

What I'd like to see would be the build dependency of the Debian 
package changed to libneon27-gnutls-dev, which is the gnutls version.

This is not an upstream issue, but an issue in the Debian packaging.
