Hi, sorry for the late answer; I ended up starting from a clean home and now things work. The one think that I've got clear, is that xmodmap screws up things. There were other problems anyway, but they must have been related to the transition from 4.4 and they disappeared with a new config dir. I guess the bug can be closed... Thanks,
