Unfortunately the Smith review process introduced one typo into the English Debconf templates. "English-Japanese" has accidentally changed to "Japanese-English" in the following diff: Template: sdic-edict/make_en Type: boolean Default: false _Description: Use the edict version of the English-Japanese dictionary? - - It is recommended decline this option and use the sdic-gene95 version of - - the English-Japanese dictionary. + Choosing this option is not recommended. The use of the sdic-gene95 version of + the Japanese-English dictionary is encouraged. So, now the template doesn't make sense: Template: sdic-edict/make_en Type: boolean Default: false _Description: Use the edict version of the English-Japanese dictionary? Choosing this option is not recommended. The use of the sdic-gene95 version of the Japanese-English dictionary is encouraged. . However, if you don't want to install that package and still want to use such a dictionary, you can select this option and use the edict version. Correcting this issue without consulting translators might just be possible. There is very similar template in the sdic-gene95 which could be used as model for this. Some of the languages already seem to use the correct order of the languages in the sentence. However, fixing things without asking from translators is always risky as some other parts of the sentence could change in some languages because of this kind of change. I would have made a patch for youfor this change, but I wasn't fluent enough in Russian and Japanese. On the other hand, this is also a very simple thing for translators to check so asking for new translations probably is not a problem. If someone doesn't answer in time, you can try to correct just that language yourself. Additionally, this can also bring in some typo fixes for other languages.
