I think it would be acceptable to set the umask to 0022 inside cowbuilder, as long as the files it creates when in that umask are only in the cowbuilder chroot area and not in /home,
As a first start towards working with umask 0027, how about running chmod a+r on the ilist file after it is created? -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
