I have found that make-kpkg uses cpio when building linux kernel packages. However, the "cpio" package is not in the "depends" nor "recommends" lists of the "kernel-package" package. It may be possible that "linux-source-2.6" package takes that dependency, but I don't know what solution will be better. Though this problem is not a serious one, please give concerns.
