Package: hostname
Version: 2.95
Severity: normal
seems like an old bug, on a new version.
I tried it on another squeeze, this one boots vith ipv4 line for the
name in /etc/hosts and I change it after... it keeps answering the FQDN
it got at boot time.
But if I boot on ipv6 only (name definition), it fails with :
hostname: No address associated with name
here is my /etc/hosts :
127.0.0.1 localhost
2001:660:6101:253::242 cassandra.reaumur.u-bordeaux.fr cassandra
147.210.245.242 proxy-apt.u-bordeaux.fr proxy-apt
# The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
fe00::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
