Thanks to your earlier comment in this bug, Martin I discovered a bug in the packaging of ghostscript-cups, and it now behaves as intended: It only recommends (not depends on) cups. I agree with your other point, though: cups really should only recommend ghostscript-cups (even if it now does _not_ create_ circular dependency to tighten up). So now cups _can_ depend on ghostscript-cups, but still _shouldn't_. Till Kamppeter mentioned in some email that it might make sense for cups raster backends to depend on ghostscript-cups. Perhaps it make sense to reopen this bug and track that closely related issue here?
