Right. I suspect this is a bug in the new version of bootclean.sh, as I see this too. Can you confirm that the message involved first on the problematic line is "Cleaning up temporary files" If so, it will be fixed in the next upload of initscripts. Enabling bootlogd when you test this might be a way to figure out which messages were involved.
