I've found the cause of this problem.According to the sudo-ML
(http://www.sudo.ws/pipermail/sudo-users/2009-May/004055.html) version
1.7 requires the LDAP source to be specified in /etc/nsswitch.conf
whereby 1.6 did not depend on this.

/etc/nsswitch.conf:
...
sudoers:      ldap
...

Adding this line renders sudo-ldap useable for me. Maybe this could be
mentioned somewhere in README.Debian or any similar file?
