Package: nagios-nrpe-server Version: 2.12-1 If root does "/etc/init.d/nagios-nrpe-server restart" or "invoke-rc.d nagios-nrpe-server restart", then nrpe runs with a new environment inherited from root's interactive shell. DISPLAY, LANG, PATH and all the others are inherited by the plugins. This has unpredictable side effects.
