Package: timidity Version: 2.13.2-31 Severity: important User: [email protected] Usertag: obsolete-initscript
A user reported a problem with enabling dependency based boot sequencing (now the default in Debian unstable) because of some obsolete init.d scripts left behind in /etc/init.d/. /etc/init.d/timidity with MD5 sum c6a7a1050aa801fc4c01e9cc90a4abe9 was one of the two files he reported. This is normally the result of a fault in the package owning the file, failing to remove the init.d script during package upgrades. As it is a conffile, it need to be removed using the procedure documented on <URL:http://wiki.debian.org/DpkgConffileHandling>. I'm setting severity to important as this blocks some people from converting their system to dependency based boot sequencing, which is now the default in debian.
