Package: libao2 Version: 0.8.8-5 Severity: normal
I'm guessing /etc/init.d/aumix is the source of the error, but that's not certain as there is no prefix or other clear indication of what script the error appears in. However, the only script at the same level as FAM is aumix, and an aumix messages appears before the error message, and the FAM startup message appears after it. >From /var/log/boot: Thu Jul 30 06:28:35 2009: Saved ALSA mixer settings detected; aumix will not touch mixer. Thu Jul 30 06:28:35 2009: FAM is not running ^[[31mfailed!^[[39;49m Thu Jul 30 06:28:35 2009: Starting file alteration monitor: FAM. I suspect this error is occuring because libao is doing something with pulse which isn't started yet because it's not set to start system-wide but is set to be the default alsa mixer. Come to think of it, now that I write this, if I move /etc/asoundrc ~/.asoundrc, this problem will probably go away. I'll get back to you, but that may not fix it in the case of a system-wide pulseaudio user, because pulseaudio starts after aumix. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (100, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libao2 depends on: ii libc6 2.9-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries libao2 recommends no packages.
