Why? Such a choice makes no sense. BTW the analysis was wrong in my bug report. The problem was not in the patch but in the fact that you use a tarball inside a tarball instead of using the upstream tarball as .orig tarball. I don't know why it got misclassified but I suggest you to go back to quilt and to avoid the tarball in tarball approach.
