The error message after the patch is: $ gajim importing PyGTK failed: Not importing directory '/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cairo': missing __init__.py The directory mentioned above is empty. I tried doing an `apt-get install --reinstall python-cairo`, but that did not add any files there. Then I just deleted this empty directory. After that, gajim no longer fails to start, i.e. it now works normally. -- With respect, Roman
