Hi Sergey, I'm interested in the work started by Phil Proudman to speed up the use of non-wildcard patterns in exclude files. Is there anything I could do to help get this work into tar? Would it be beneficial for me to update the original patch to apply to the current version of tar? Or are there other revisions you intended to make? If so, could I help with those at all?
