Package: rsyslog
Version: 4.2.0-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
I have the same problem on two servers with watchdog daemon and with rsyslog
(mark enabled).
The watchdog daemon restarts the server because the file "/var/log/messages"
has not been changed in time.
Below the logs in the file "/var/log/messages" :
Aug 2 00:05:06 yuggoth rsyslogd: -- MARK --
Aug 2 00:25:06 yuggoth rsyslogd: -- MARK --
Aug 2 00:45:06 yuggoth rsyslogd: -- MARK --

There is a problem with the writing of marks in the file "/var/log/messages".
When writing of marks is enabled, why not write the marks every 20 minutes
unconditionally, regardless of other entries in the file "/var/log/messages" ?
Regards.
