Package: dpkg Version: 1.15.3.1 Severity: normal
When I had an aborted install: Preparing to replace kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.4-2 (using .../kdebase-runtime_4%3a4$ Unpacking replacement kdebase-runtime ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/kdebase-runtime_4%3a4.3.0-1_i386$ trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/keditfiletype', which is also in package kcontrol dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) there was no report of the version of kcontrol which had the conflicting file. I had to manually report the version: The version of kcontrol installed is 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-2 Shouldn't this version information be reported automatically by dpkg which makes it easier to report in reportbug? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-rc5 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii coreutils 7.4-2 The GNU core utilities ii libc6 2.9-23 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lzma 4.43-14 Compression method of 7z format in dpkg recommends no packages.
