The message in logs is: Aug 9 08:17:36 laptop-rg NetworkManager: nm_device_wifi_new: assertion `driver != NULL' failed /etc/init.d/hal stop/start doesn't help.
Downgrading to hal 0.5.12... (as above) helps immediately. And upgrading to 0.5.13-2 works fine until system reboot.
