Package: mc
Version: 1:4.6.0-4.6.1-pre3-3
Severity: wishlist

I would like to propose a filter for viewing GNU binary message
catalogs (MO) files. The following lines could be placed somewhere in
mc.ext:

# Gettext Catalogs
shell/.mo
        View=%view{ascii} msgunfmt %f || cat %f

This will display the strings contained in the message catalog, if the
gettext package is installed. If msgunfmt is not available, a harmless
warning will be displayed. I have put the above lines in my
~/.mc/bindings, and I find it rather nice. :-)
