Package: wicd
Version: 1.6.1-3
Severity: normal

Hi,
I installed wicd and after that I couldn't run it. It kept giving me
errors about dbus session. When I looked in the wicd log I saw:
2009/08/25 10:59:02 :: wicd is version 1.6.1 426
2009/08/25 10:59:02 :: Traceback (most recent call last):

2009/08/25 10:59:02 :: dbus.exceptions.DBusException:

allowed to own the service "org.wicd.daemon" due to security policies in
the configuration file

After restarting the computer wicd worked. I could have probably done
service dbus restart to avoid restarting the computer. But I didn't know
that.
Indeed doing that restarts wicd to:
sudo service dbus restart
[sudo] password for ozdeb:
Stopping bluetooth: bluetoothd.
Stopping Hardware abstraction layer: hald.
Stopping Network connection manager: wicd.
Stopping Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD Daemon: avahi-daemon.
Stopping system message bus: dbus.
Starting system message bus: dbus.
Starting Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD Daemon: avahi-daemon.
Starting Network connection manager: wicd.
Starting Hardware abstraction layer: hald.
Starting bluetooth: bluetoothd.

So, I think the post install process of wicd should restart dbus. This
will solve the problem above, and also the problem I've encountered

Thanks, Oz.
