Package: hal Version: 0.5.13-3 Severity: minor Some machines don't have a PCI bus, and half a meg of installed size makes a difference for them. But they run X and hal with it.
It would be lovely if pciutils could become recommended. Most people would install it, since the installation of recommended packages is the default. Those who don't want it could then omit it. An alternative independent from changing the hal package could be the provisioning of a package that provides pciutils but that has only dummy utilities. Though that would be ugly, wouldn't it?
