I Nico, I *do* care about the RFC, but spammers obviously succeeded in sending email that does not.
If they do it again, my fetchmail will stop working again until I manually remove the offending mail from the POP3 server once more. . Fetchmail not being able to cope with the invalid "_" in the domain name effectively opens up for remote DOS attacks against any fetchmail driven email reception. I really think you should consider opening this bug again.
