Please do not orphan the package - I will still maintain it. However, I
have not uploaded a new version for a while for a number of reasons:

      * The release cycle of ROOT and Debian are ill-sync'ed. So by the
time 5.22 of ROOT came out it was too late to meet lenny. On
the other hand, 5.24 is in time for the next freeze, and that's
the version I'm working on now. Note, that all bugs, except
some un-supported architecture ones, will be closed.
      * I recently became a farther and my baby daughter has taken up
quite a bit of my time.
      * I had a little trouble getting approved as a maintainer, which
means I have to go through others. It adds another barrier
which means I need to be a little more careful when asking
        people to upload for me.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I'm currently on paternal leave (which
is _not_ the same thing as time-off) and I'm going to NYC in a few days
so time is precious. Anyways, please go a head with the NMU.

Yours,
