Hi,
the example for xinet.d configuration giffen in README.Debian doesn't for
the Debian defaults.
i) courierpassd is in /usr/sbin not /usr/local/sbin
ii) courier runs as root so it seems courierpassd has to run as root aswell
to comunicate via the authdeaemon socket.
I'd suggest an xinet.d configuration like this:
service courierpassd
{
port = 106
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
user = root
server = /usr/sbin/courierpassd
server_args = -s imap
wait = no
only_from = 127.0.0.1
instances = 4
disable = no
}
