Package: watchdog
Version: 5.6-6
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

Watchdog reboot multiple servers because the file "/var/log/messages" is not
changed in time.
There was no problem on the server, because there were other entries in the log
files.

I discussed with the Rsyslog package maintainers (bug report #539739) and they
have added
a new parameter to configure Rsyslog (version 5.x) to always write the marks.

You can follow the discussion at that address:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=539739

Can you add to the Watchdog documentation that when enable settings "file" and
"change"
for the file "/var/log/messages" it takes to enable the Rsyslog settings
"$ModLoad Immark"
and "$ActionWriteAllMarkMessages on" ?

Regards.
