Hello, I'm an inkscape developer. We have recently removed the whiteboard configuration flags from inkscape trunk and it will be removed in inkscape 0.47. Unfortunately it only worked properly for a short period of time and so we've taken the action to remove it until someone decides to rewrite a more robust and less fragile implementation.
I would recommend that any versions of 0.46 that are planned to be maintained until 0.47 is released should be recompiled without the --enable-whiteboard configure flag. Once that is done, please close this bug as appropriate.
