Patrick, thanks for your speedy fix. I decided to go with a new debian version because the patch was so small.
I have uploaded to mentors a new version of libsynthesis http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libsynthesis/libsynthesis_3.0.3.28+ds1-3.dsc You can also get it from git://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/libsynthesis.git signed tag debian/3.0.3.28+ds1-3rc1 This fixes bug #544862. Thanks to Karl Goetz, I was able to verify that the new package builds on alpha (as well as i386). All the best, David
