thanks to the help of Enrico Zini <enrico>, we've been able to track
down the bug to a problem in IceWM itself. Attaching a minimal
testcase showing the bug. The bug happens with claws-mail too.
First, please DON'T abuse other bug reports for completely unrelated problems.
Second, read the fine manual. And run icewm-session (or icewmtray
manually) to get the xorg systray icons rendered where they should be.
That said, I am not really happy with upstream's decission to move this
functionality into an extra tool but that's life.

I installed wicd 1.6.1-3 and, when I try to open the main window of wicd
client, icewm completely hangs.
With wicd version 1.5.9 it works perfectly.
