Man, you know Debian Lenny is called Stable. So what's going on? When will have no problems with hardware under Linux? I mean there is so much to do. I have an old PC, I also have a problem with my pcmcia that are not workign in the kernels. Is there any tricks for having a fast kernel + all working modules. I have impression that kernels are becoming pretty heavy nowadays, as slow as microsoft. .... to say how it is dramatically going. Can we rethink the way a kernel works, to load only hte necessary based on a database on internet. The kernel starts empty, can work on a DX486, and as soon as lcpci sees the modules or new hardware get the modules from internet or at teh first install, it installs it automatically. We shall do that our kernels can work with any machines and any processors, and particularly Old PC. DX486 with a 2.6.99 kernel shall work fast, very fast. Adapted for all. So to say, the module is still hanging. So it'll never solve all troubles about kernels. It's throwing a pin in ocean. Coding a new type of fast kernels with universal hardware support would be THE solution: Linus will guide us :) !
