I can put a patched FindJNI.cmake to VTK's source package ./vtk-5.2/CMake/FindJNI.cmake
In this case CMake's /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindJNI.cmake will not be used. The definiton of JAVA_AWT_LIBRARY can then be removed from debian/rules and debian/CMakeCache.txt.debian Cheers Dominique
