Hi, The /etc/init.d/mountall.sh script prints a red colored error message "failed!" when /etc/mtab is a symlink to /proc/mounts. Here is an excerpt from /var/log/boot that demonstrates the problem, Fri Sep 18 13:33:04 2009: done. Fri Sep 18 13:33:04 2009: Will now mount local filesystems: ^[[31mfailed!^[[39;49m Fri Sep 18 13:33:04 2009: Will now activate swapfile swap:done. I tried it both ways, with /etc/mtab as a regular file, and as a symlink to /proc/mounts - this error only occurs when /etc/mtab is a symlink to /proc/mounts.
