Hi.

I had the same problem with cdrecord 2.01+01a01-2 after an update from the
testing version of Debian Sarge to the stable version. I got rid of it after a
complete reinstallation of the system. However, the warning about the badly
designed interface still persists:

# cdrecord --scanbus dev=ATA:
