A little investigation regarding this bug: Currently the behavious
of dpkg-source is to ignore all -sX options but the last, so the
behaviour the submitter observed is actually the intended one.

Also the description of the options in the man page indicated the
conflicting behaviour:

 -su unpacks the original source tree.

 -sn [...] Any original source tree that was in the current
        directory is still removed.

The fact that only the last -sX option is used should be investigated
in the man page though.
