Oh!  Yeah, that could be helpful.  I'm in the embarassing situation with
gnubg that, although I adopted it because I use it and am interested in
it, I'm not horribly familiar with the underlying libraries and systems
and have never done any Gtk programming myself.  So problems are fairly
unintuitive.

I suspect that starting with a new CVS snapshot is the best approach,
though; chances are relatively high that this is something gnubg upstream
already ran into and fixed.
