To fix this problem you need to call libtool with `-Xcompiler -shared'
instead of only `-shared'.
So in noise/src/Makefile, line 20 should be:
$(LIBTOOL) --mode=link $(CXX) $(LDFLAGS) -Xcompiler -shared
-Wl,-soname=libnoise.so.0 -o $@ $(OBJECTS:.o=.lo)
instead of:
$(LIBTOOL) --mode=link $(CXX) $(LDFLAGS) -shared
-Wl,-soname=libnoise.so.0 -o $@ $(OBJECTS:.o=.lo)
At least this works for me, on my Arch Linux box.
