I was just looking at your man page for mkimage. There appears to be a typo in it for the -d option:
-d [image data file]
Sse image data file.
What is "Sse"?
Note: I'm interested in mkimage because I'm currently using it for
work. I'll ping the maintainer about NMU'ing it or maybe adopting it.
