Red Hat fixed this in their version and the patch fixes my problem as
well. I have been experiencing this bug in Lenny, but it is present in
the latest unstable release as well.

In my case, using Mondo to restore a system makes any subsequent
installs of Lenny fail to reread the extended partition and require a
reboot to continue.
