Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.93.4 Severity: important When you install a new kernel version (e.g. 2.6.29 -> 2.6.30, or 2.6.30-1 to 2.6.31-2) the new version is not written to flash. This is because initramfs-tools will only call flash-kernel when updating a ramdisk (-u), but not when creating one (-c).
I mentioned this problem before, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=526640#44 and your response was: "postinst takes itself care of lilo and folks traditionaly. also we had a race in sight why this should be used. sorry i don't rememeber any details right now, was giving a seminar, will look later in it again." Since users are running into this problem (I just got another report on debian-arm), it would be good to look at this again. -- Martin Michlmayr http://www.cyrius.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
