Hello Francesco,

I do understand your frustration. I have also been in the position
where the maintainer of some piece of software didn't fix a bug that I
cared about. There can be many reasons for this including maintainer
incomprehension or sloth. Usually, however, it comes down to the fact
that the maintainer is volunteering his/her time and such time is
divided amongst many tasks and priorities in life. Sometimes the
favourite piece of software suffers.

I am the first to admit that I don't place much priority on geomview;
indeed the last upload was 2 years ago. Moreover, upstream is
virtually non-existant for years, so geomview suffers from a double
whammy in this regard.

I have to further admit that I'm not going to put much effort into
geomview in the future. I am no longer engaged in the computational
geometry community and geomview is not something I use anymore.
Because of that, I've recently asked for help maintaining it (#547611)
and have today placed geomview under maintenance of the debian-science
team. I hope that others will become more active. Indeed, you
needn't be a Debian developer to help out; please see
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianScience

Thanks for your understanding,
-Steve
