Package: amanda-common Version: 1:2.6.1p1-2 Severity: normal
I'm setting up a new Amanda server for the first time. I tried to run the amserverconfig utility and received the following error: $ amserverconfig DailySet1 Logging to /var/log/amanda/amserverconfig.20091019111837.debug /etc/amanda/template.d directory created ERROR: mkdir:/var/lib/lib/amanda/gnutar-lists failed: No such file or directory Further research shows that /usr/sbin/amserverconfig is trying to mkdir $amandahomedir/gnutar-lists. The $amandahomedir variable is set to: $localstatedir/lib/amanda The $localstatedir variable is set to: /var/lib Instead it should be set to /var (according to the build scripts I've read for Amanda). It is defined incorrectly in the following two files: /usr/lib/amanda/perl/Amanda/Paths.pm /usr/sbin/amaddclient The breaks the amserverconfig and amaddclient commands. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-2-686 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages amanda-common depends on: ii adduser 3.111 add and remove users and groups ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20090911cvs-2 simple mail user agent ii debconf [debconf-2 1.5.27 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.9-25 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.0-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libncurses5 5.7+20090803-2 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline6 6.0-5 GNU readline and history libraries ii openbsd-inetd [ine 0.20080125-3 The OpenBSD Internet Superserver ii perl [perl5] 5.10.1-5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii tar 1.22-2 GNU version of the tar archiving u ii update-inetd 4.35 inetd configuration file updater amanda-common recommends no packages.
