imo this is a gnome-power-manager bug and related/duplicate of
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=528966.

Can you confirm, that this only happens when you suspend by closing the lid or
does this also happen when you use the suspend action in the logout/shutdown 
dialog?
