More precisely, it makes the 'editor' manpage unusable if you set up
emacs23 as the preferred /usr/bin/editor alternative. The emacs manpage
should be fine.

Indeed. I had reported that in #539926, and apparently only the first
half of my patch got applied when the postinst was rewritten.
