This bug seems to just want clarification of where the manpages in each section come from.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -S /usr/share/man/man2 manpages-dev, modutils, manpages: /usr/share/man/man2 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -S /usr/share/man/man3 blt, defoma, libtext-charwidth-perl, quota, libreadline4, libreadline5, libxft-dev, libwrap0-dev, dictionaries-common, libpcre3, libxml2-dev, liblocale-gettext-perl, zlib1g-dev, libtext-wrapi18n-perl, gettext-base, manpages-dev, libpopt-dev, netbase, libfontconfig1-dev, manpages, libncurses5-dev, libgnome-dev, libtext-iconv-perl: /usr/share/man/man3 man2/ is provided by manpages-dev (except for intro.2). man3/ is provided by library packages (-dev I guess [hope]). apt-file or p.d.o can probably give more details here.
