Package: quodlibet Version: 2.1-4 Severity: wishlist quodlibet used to work with my keyboard's media keys (play/pause, stop, next, previous) automatically. However, they haven't worked for a while now, and I see these messages when quodlibet starts up:
Error grabbing key 173, 0xfff040 Error grabbing key 171, 0xfff040 Error grabbing key 172, 0xfff040 Error grabbing key 209, 0xfff040 Error grabbing key 174, 0xfff040 This likely occurs because some other program (like gnome-settings-daemon) grabs those keys before quodlibet can, and thus quodlibet and that program need to cooperate to let quodlibet find out when those keys get pressed. Given that the GNOME "Keyboard Shortcuts" dialog has entries for the media keys on my system, this seems like the most likely possibility. It appears that enabling the dbus plugin fixes this problem. Thus, please enable the use of dbus by default, much as the current version enables direct grabbing of multimedia keys by default. This will make quodlibet automatically support the multimedia keys. Please also either recommend quodlibet-plugins or move the dbus plugin to the main package, given that the dbus plugin should get installed by default for normal installations.
